You joined RealtyAds in 2024. What motivated you to make the move?
I found myself at a crossroads in my career. I was feeling stuck, like I had more to give, but nowhere to give it.
I started my career right out of college in the startup world, working for a consulting company. That role lit a fire in me. I woke up every day genuinely excited to work. I thrived in the autonomy and ownership I had, and I loved contributing to something that was being built from the ground up. I also had a manager who was truly transformative in my career, someone who showed me what it meant to be a high performer and helped shape my professional mindset in ways I still carry with me.
After that, I transitioned into internal marketing roles. I gained valuable experience, grew a lot professionally, and worked with some great people. But deep down, I missed the spark and energy I got from being client facing. I missed the feeling of being challenged, of building alongside a passionate team, of feeling like I was truly part of something bigger.
Then, through the nonprofit Female Strong, which I’m proudly involved with, I met Carter and a few of the women from RealtyAds at one of our networking events. That conversation changed everything. Carter spoke with such passion and clarity about what they were building, and it instantly resonated with me.
With my family’s background in commercial real estate and my own love for startups, it felt like the perfect intersection. I left that event knowing that I wanted to be part of the RealtyAds team.
How do you approach developing strategic solutions that align with each client’s unique goals?
After nearly two years at RealtyAds, I can confidently say I haven’t had a single client where our tool didn’t work. But success doesn’t come simply from activating our product. It comes from understanding what the client is truly trying to achieve with our product.
Sometimes the goals are straightforward: increasing broker reach or gaining direct exposure to tenants. But often, it’s more complex. Maybe they’re reporting up to leadership and need specific metrics to prove ROI. Maybe they’re under pressure to try something new but don’t want to risk too much. The real challenge, and opportunity, is getting to the heart of their goals and pain points.
That doesn’t always happen in the first call. So I lead with curiosity. I ask a lot of questions. Not just about the message, but about their broader strategy, their internal pressures, and what success looks like for them. Only then can I provide a truly tailored experience and build a roadmap that delivers real value.
Ultimately, I don’t want to be seen as just another vendor. In every role I’ve had I always strive to be a partner. Someone who’s embedded in their strategy and invested in their outcomes. The more I can align with client’s goals and become part of their team, the stronger the relationship and the greater the success we can create together.
What has been the most rewarding part of being on the RealtyAds team so far?
Since joining RealtyAds, my role has evolved in really meaningful ways. This year marked a major milestone as I stepped into a leadership position, managing a team for the first time.
Leading others has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career so far. It’s pushed me to grow, not just as a professional, but as a coach, a mentor, and a listener. As our company has scaled, having a strong, collaborative team has been essential, and being part of that growth journey together has been incredibly fulfilling.
What’s made it especially meaningful is watching my team members thrive. Seeing them build confidence, raise their hands for new opportunities, and speak with conviction not just about our product, but about themselves, is a reminder of why leadership matters. It’s not just about guiding others, it’s about creating space for people to discover what they’re capable of.
Outside of work, what drew you to get involved with the Young Professionals Committee of Female Strong?
Giving back has always been important to me. In the rush of our day-to-day career goals, deadlines, climbing the ladder, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture and become self-focused. But at the end of the day, what really matters is the relationships we build and the impact we leave behind.
I’ve been incredibly lucky to have mentors and role models who’ve guided me through both my personal and professional life. And I’ve always felt a responsibility to pay that forward.
About three years ago, a good friend of mine, who leads the Young Professional Committee at Female Strong, introduced me to the organization. From the moment I learned about their mission, to empower and support the next generation of female business leaders, I knew I wanted to be part of it. I saw myself in their work. It was exactly the kind of support I would have loved when I was younger, just starting to find my voice and confidence.
Getting involved wasn’t just about volunteering my time. It was about contributing to something bigger than myself. I’ve built meaningful, lifelong relationships through this community, connections that constantly inspire and ground me.
Most of my dining out tends to happen close to home, so naturally, you’ll find me rotating through my favorite West Loop spots. But when I venture out, there are a couple of places I keep coming back to, especially over in Logan Square.
Daisies is a standout. It’s farm-to-table, incredibly fresh, and always full of unexpected flavor combinations. They also have a pop-up at the West Loop farmers market. The dishes are seasonal, and the cocktails are just as impressive. Every time I go, I try something new, and I’m always blown away.
But if I had to pick a favorite overall, it’s Middlebrow. It has everything: a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, an ever-changing menu, and some of the best food in the city, hands down. Their bungalow is the perfect spot to gather with friends or family outdoors in the summer. The Big Salad, their Soppressata + Hot Honey Pizza, and a bottle of orange wine is the perfect night. I haven’t made it to their brunch yet, but it’s high on my list!
